I have a 2014 Tundra 5.7L i-FORCE V8 E85 Flex Fuel (The most awesome truck EVER!!) I have been trying to find out what the factory towing capacity of my truck is but no one can seem to tell me. All the sites say that it can be "as much as 10,500" but that's all I can find. I have searched by vin #, looked on my door tags and even searched my owners manual... no luck. I can't believe that finding this information on my truck is so difficult. Any suggestions?

It all depends on your truck's type. Regular cab, double cab, crew cab? There are other parameters, too. But you should have it toward the back of your owners manual. It's listed in the owners manual for my '13 CM. The model code is listed on the lower "B" pillar when you open the driver door. It's on the same sticker as the tire pressure specs. The model code is a ten character hyphenated figure. For instance, my 2wd CM (with towing package) model code is USK51L-PSTSKA. On page 668 of my owners manual (Section 6.1 Specifications), I find that my vehicle capacity weight is 1420 lbs. On page 671, the trailer weight rating is listed as 9300 lbs.

It is different for each truck type / motor combination.

Reg cab is higher. Followed by the DC. Then the crew.

Reason. They weigh more. That affects the overall towing capacity.

Add more stuff to the truck (like a passenger (or 4) and a cooler full of beer, bikes in bed, generator...etc. the towing capacity is diminished because the truck weighs more.

So. What truck config do you have? Start there.
