ok so I got the Morimotos XB fog lights from the group buy. Currently running aftermarket HIDs for the low beams in stock housing. 2012 tundra. Thinking of upgrading to matching Morimotos lights LED or HIDs. Any advices ?

My current HIDs are pretty strong so looking for something that won't blind people while keeping the stock headlights.

should I just stick to LEDs ?

H11 is the size I believe.

If you already have HIDs that work why do you want to replace it with another HID kit? What color temp is the HID kit you have? I think the XB fogs are 5000-5500k so if you don't already have that for your HIDs maybe you want to get different bulbs that are a similar temp.

Ideally I would just save and get him to do a retrofit for you. That would be the best upgrade. Really any LED or HID kit in a halogen reflector housing is going to scatter light and blind people to some degree.

    Retrofit :notsure:

Only way to get better light output is retrofit. Reflector base housings are limited to the amount of light that can be thrown on the road no matter if you put HID or LED. Looking at it directly may make it appear to be brighter, in reality its not brighter at all.

Our eyes adjusts to the white light (or blue light) better than the halogen yellow light. So in your mind, it looks like you have more light on the road with your HID kit. But the reflectors do not throw more light output on the road just because of an HID or LED kit. It actually worsens the light output as the reflector bowls are designed for halogen bulbs only. The HID bulbs and LED bulbs aren't design for reflector bowls. The H11 on the LED bulbs and HID bulbs are just the base that mounts to it. All HID bulbs throw light a specific way that only an HID projector can properly focus that light where its needs to be.

    Hope that makes sense.
