Gears on TRD Pro

My buddy picked up a TRD pro. He will use it to pull his camper and boat with. After looking at it he has a 410 gears and mine has 430. Dumb question I know but why? Is the TRD pro made to pull more weight correct? Why is the gears different? Higher the number means lower gear? Thanks we was just wanting to know.

 

Unless something changed, all 4x4 Tundras have 4.30. Seeing that a TRD Pro is obviously 4x4, it should have 4.30.

The Pro isn’t made to pull more weight, it is designed to have a more off-road worthy suspension (Toyota’s version of a Raptor)

I thought remembering reading on here was 430. But 19 guess have 410

 

If your buddy is going to be towing with it he may want to address the rear springs for the extra weight. Not that it can haul any less but it will give it some rear end squat since it doesn’t have the typical rate of a standard stock pick up truck. He could do airbags, timbrens or even an add a leaf or upgraded leaf springs.

Thanks. I have Timbren on mine and he just ordered some last night. He is kinda pissy now cause he thought he had 430. Lol. I also looked at getting a TRD pro a white one but if the gears are different probably not. But with a 410 he should be fine beside the 430? Thanks again for the help

 

From his paper work the trailer weight is 9800 mine is a limited and it’s 8900. He also was told that it had Denver??? Springs in the rear to tow/haul more weight

 

My dealership is trying to get me trade mine in on a TRD pro due to the salesman lied and now they fired him. Not because of me!!! They fired him 3month before i came back in with some issues.

 

I remember seeing something about tundras with the towing package get 4.30 and without 4.10. Maybe that has changed.

 

I would ask them to run the VIN and make sure of the proper ratio

 

The vin on paper work matches the truck vin.

 

this is building one on the Toyota website has the 4.3 on the Tundra Pro

 

410 is not an option as soon as it's the 5.7 its 4.30 the 4.6 liter has 4.10

Went to the website and looked. All of the TRD pro has 410. Thanks for the help again.

 

4.30 is less than 5% lower geared than 4.10, he wouldn't notice a difference in that gearing anyways.

 

You can’t go by what the dealer website says. Some intern typed that in. Ask for a copy of the window sticker. Or type the vin in on Toyota’s official website.
