Hi, does anyone know how to take these harnesses apart? They are for the tow package plug. I don't see anything that moves as a clip. And they are a bit tight so I assume there is a tab holding them together.

Not much information in your OP, but assuming you're talking about the Toyota harness near the rear bumper, OEM wiring harnesses almost always have clips made into the harness for securing the harness. These clips attach into holes in the chassis with various barbs etc. The clips will be taped onto the wire bundle with vinyl electrical tape, then the entire harness wrapped again in tape or enclosed in flexible conduit.

You will not be able to "pull" a wire through that clip area if that's what you're trying to do. To free up a wire you will have to remove the harness from the chassis at that area, remove the outer covering in the area of the clip, and unwrap the clip from the wire bundle to extract or pull the wire of interest. Repair the wrapping in that area once you've accomplished your goal.

@JohnLakeman thank you for your reply. I thought I attached a photo. The photo was of the connections of two harness "clips." The plastic connectors. They are the two connectors for the tow plug in harness. I figured it out. They have tabs that I pressed in and was able to pull them apart. They didn't move much at first but got them apart. I can't figure out how to add a file/photo to my thread.

I have a 2012 CM SR5 with tow package. Do you know what wores I would tap into on the tow plug harness for a reverse light? I bought the VLEDS license plate LED reverse light.

No, sorry, can't help you with that one. I have read posts here that seemed to show a standard trailer connector (?) with a terminal position for the trailer reverse lights, but that doesn't mean that Toyota provides a tow vehicle wire to that terminal. Try the search feature, or maybe others can help.
