    2019 tundra trd off road
Bought my first new truck today, a 2019 tundra trd off road. Ive added some pictures, the one of the back seat has some stuff from my old truck in it, a 2001 chevy 1500.

I was wondering about the extended warranty. Ive read a few threads on here about buying one from an out of state dealer and how its possible and how its not possible, and the prices that people paid for theirs. Thats not so much what im wondering about. I was uneasy about the price as it seemed high from what ive seen people on here say they got theirs for. The price he quoted me was $4995 for 72month/72k, after declining it twice he dropped it to $3060 and said that was a "special family price". It seemed high to me. It was high right? I put in a picture of the pricing sheet for the extended warranty stuff. He said the extended warranty was from toyota. Thanks for the help.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Hey there from Virginia!:mudding:
Congrats on the new rig! Looks great!
The thing that bothers me about extended warranties is how quick the salespeople will drop the price by $1000.00. It's a money maker for them because the reward is much higher than the risk. My experience with these warranties is that they NEVER come through for you when something goes wrong. It's either not covered at all or they find a way to weasel out of fully covering the problem, and you still pay. Toyota's are so reliable that I'd rather pay as I go. But that's just me. Enjoy your new ride!

    Welcome from northern Maryland :hattip:

The one thing I didn’t research when I purchased my tundra was the warranty
And not knowing I got screwed according to what others on here paid from a certain out of state dealer

    I paid $2,300 for 8 year 100k platinum- $ 0 deductible
Others paid half of that for same warranty
Mine is financed in loan and never changed it

The only reason I got a warranty was because of all the COMPUTER $HIT I can’t fix- and some parts are more then $2,500 - only time wil tell
I would buy from woman on here that several have used if had to do over again

    Good luck

I paid about 1285 for 125 k warranty , it was last day of the month , they were behind targets.

Some one has a thread here on forums for Toyota warranty for about 1500

$3k is really high! Not a big EW guy. You can always purchase one at a later date.

Wow, people on here are so friendly. Thanks for all the welcomes and replies.

The only thing im thinking today that i wished id have changed is the floor mats. It had the upgraded all weather mats on the truck already and wasnt really thinking about the mats at the time, but i like that the weather tech 2nd row go all the way under the back seat for when its folded up.

    Welcome from Bamaland.

I've had 7 new-from-the-dealer Toyotas and have never bought the extended warranty. And HAVE NEVER had a circumstance where I wish I had.

But..............if I were to buy one I would not pay a penny over $1,000.00.

The only selling point of a tundra is reliability, so why I want to spend money on a extended warranty

I agree on the reliability, i figured if i could get one for ~$1500 i probably would just for peace of mind, but for 3k i couldnt do it. I work a 2 week on one week off, so i dont put many miles on my vehicles, so for the years of coverage ~$1500 isnt bad.

Nice truck, similar look to my 14 which is my third tundra. I would say skip the warranty. After three of them, other than normal wear and tear stuff, the only thing I replaced on any of them was the belt tensioner. I put about 80k each on the last 2 and have about 40 on the 14 now. I would have lost on the warranty every time.

I will say the 21 can't come fast enough, test drove a RAM Laramie last week and man did my tundra look ancient in comparison on the tech side.
