Sequoia took it in the rear...

OK , well my wife’s 2004 Sequoia was in a rear in collision last week. Was tagged from behind by a 2015 Jeep Cherokee that did not stop for the school bus my wife was stopped behind. Probably doing 30-35 mph. Jeep is destroyed.

Sequoia seems to have fared much better. Frame seems OK , rear bumper and cover are toast , rear gate is buckled but opens and closed OK.

I need to find a new rear bumper , so are there any places that make some steel bumpers for the 1st Gen Sequoias?

Wife and son are OK. Stiff necks and backs.
Fighting with insurance companies now.

 

Just guessing, but tundra bumpers wont fit?

 

I dont think so. Its at a shop now , we are going to pick it up next week and i will get it tore down.

 

I'm seeing more people trick out 1st gen Sequoia's. Does anyone make a sweet aftermarket rear bumper? Put that insurance money to use.

On a more serious note, a hit that hard can have lasting effects on back pain. Sometimes it doesn't seem that severe initially. You may want to consult with an attorney. I wouldn't accept their first offer.

 

I have seen front bumpers for them but haven't seen rear yet.
