So... I got my new (to me) 2017 Tundra SR5 three weeks ago, then 2 days later was sent on a work trip to Alabama, gulf coast, and tour of Florida. Now I'm home again and looking forward to getting into some mods. Fortunately, while I was away I ordered lots of parts and didn't get anxious waiting for them to be delivered.

The truck came from the factory with TRD intake, exhaust, and rear torsion bar. The PO debadged and de-decaled (is that even a word?), added 18" Method wheels, window tint, Line-x on the bed and bumper ends, and TRD Pro grille.

    List of planned mods includes:
    Remote starter (tech12v group buy)
    Speaker upgrade (tech12v group buy)
    Sound dampening throughout
    N-Fab step bars
    Bushwhacker fender flares
    Pop-n-Lock tailgate lock
HID headlight and fog light conversion
Various cosmetic interior upgrades and personalizations

There are lots of discussion threads on most of these topics that I'm sure will be extremely useful to me. I don't want to repeat what's already here, but if anybody would like me to post pics, descriptions, or writeups of any mods or process, just let me know.

Note on my background... I am an electronics engineer, and I have worked worked on systems for military applications in my career. My motto is "do it right the first time". I tend to advocate soldered joints, stress relief, proper shielding (mechanical and electrical), and secure wiring. No job done half ass... Everything I do is fully assed!

Thanks for welcoming me to the group. You guys are awesome!

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. And yes, this is my daily driver, so it will face the onslaught of Northern snow, ice, and salt. Although I do plan on getting the Krown treatment, and I work from home, so it won't get too many winter city miles on it.

Like the bronze NV's. Almost went that route myself but wasn't sure how they'd look on an orange truck. They look great on black!

Great truck, liking the wheels as well! Also an Ontarioian i will be getting mine krowned here shortly. When its winter i want my best possible vehicle on the road and thats the tundra. Its the reason i sold my civic and got the truck. I was tired of getting the car stuck on the country roads every other week. 4x4 is necessary up here!

I hear ya! I've had 4x4 vehicles for the last 20 years, and have only been stuck a few times. Usually when I'm stupid enough to think that I can get through a winter season without snow tires. Lol.

I'm actually looking forward to trying the trusty Tundra in the snow with a good set of winter tires.
