    I agree with this.

Get a new CM. A new 5.7 before it goes away.

Be patient. It’s almost the end of the month and the 2020s are showing up... that dealer will be hounding you later this week to get the deal done in August. Are you working with West Herr? Honestly, I think you can do better on the lease. I’d counter with zero down and turn your keys in for the new truck. Let them sit on that offer for a couple days. While you’re waiting, go to leasehackr.com and do lots of research. There are several very recent Tundra leases thoroughly outlined there through Ally that are better deals than you’re being offered. Take those deals in once they start the hard sell Thursday and Friday and tell them to match the deal and you’ll sign today, If they won’t, tell them you need to give Northtown, Basil, etc a chance to match it and get ready to leave. $20 says you won’t make it out the door and you’ll walk away with a better deal than you thought possible... they’ll likely match anything out there as they have to get the 2019s out the door... and there is likely some hidden manufacturer to dealer cash available depending on how many they move. It’s far and away the best time to negotiate on 2019s. And with a lease, who cares if it’s a 2019 rather than a 2020... you’re just turning it in. Just check and recheck the paperwork.. lease term and mileage especially... don’t let the lock you in to some 48 month low mileage lease that only gives you 10K miles a year or something. Good luck.

Where i bought my 2017. They usually have the best prices... and will match anything you bring in. Check out my lease links above. Ask them to match. And be patient... they need to move these and will offer you a better deal. You can buy me wings Duffs with all the money you save. Lol

20k down isn’t insane at all. The goal should be to own your vehicle with no payments, not rent the truck from toyota motor corp. leasing is fine if it is s business expense write off, but if not, it isnt wise.

This isn’t meant to be insulting to anyone who doesn’t have 20k in cash to throw down, it’s just reality that everyone is best off living well within their means

Looks like this party is ending...

If you decide to lease again and the terms are favorable to you, it certainly isn’t likely end in disaster.

We could argue back and forth about lease vs purchase, but all of our circumstances are different, and that wasn’t your question anyway.

    Good luck!

I would keep your truck and wait for 2021 model. It will be a whole new truck. But in the end it’s your money.

Now I'm intrigued. I may just open up a thread on lease vs purchase just to get some more insight. Although there probably is one already that I should seek out

Forgot to mention: my OEM Michelins were toast at 23,000 miles. So not surprised you need new tires. My brakes and rotors are still good and I tow a pretty heavy tractor and a big snowmobile trailer at times. You might ask West Herr to turn the rotors and throw some new pads on for you and see what they say if you end up keeping your ride... can’t hurt to ask.

Honestly, if you’re planning on keeping the vehicle for 48 months or less, a good lease will be less expensive than a purchase. Especially when places like Ally are writing leases with residual values in the mid 80s. That’s insane. Plus, other than tires and wipers, nothing on the truck is your problem. No worries about the huge dealer profits on rust proofing, fabric protection, paint protection, extended warranties, etc. It isn’t your truck so it isn’t your problem... you don’t even have to think about any of that stuff.

In that case, you should keep your truck until this time next year during the rebates. Save money over the next year to buy a 2020, maybe a turbo 2021, or a 2019 with low miles.

That's what I'd do instead of leasing, if you're considering purchasing.

Easy, the better financial answer is to stick with what you have. Then again we don’t know how good your finances are, if it’s good go for it, if not then don’t

Lifespan of brakes and even tires has a lot to do with locale. When I lived in WV people were lucky to get 50k on brakes. I am real easy on brakes and tires due to hwy driving and flat roads. I bet I can get 70k out of my OEM BFGs easily. With the new bay boat I am not sure how my brakes will wear. Since I got my trailer brakes working I should ok. I towed 18' bass boat with both Tacomas and close to 100k on each and never touched the brakes. The new boat out weighs the bass boat by 1500 lbs but I did not have trailer brakes with BB. I am not a heavy braker unlike my ex. With her it was always one pedal or the other.

Ok guys update. I talked the dealership down to a monthly payment of $398 with $1000 down. Going to pick up my new truck tomorrow. Same monthly payment I'm making now, and I don't have to buy new sneakers or do my own brake job. That alone is worth the grand to me.

Nice! Congratulations on the new truck.

I'm not in the best financial position, but I can make my monthly payment work, my wife and kids drive my truck Monday thru Friday, and I know they are safe.

I drive mine and see all the other tundras on the road, yeah mines not lifted and has all the extras. But I am happy and don't regret my lease. I intend to buy mine. Toyota last for ever, and the tundras hold there value.

All that matters, is that your happy with your truck.

I agree 100% I was planning on buying out my lease as well. I love my truck and it is perfect for me. Then I went in for an inspection and oil change and they dangled this one over my head. I didn't go in to shop for a new truck so I kept saying no. After I started to get tempted I reached out to my tundra friends on here who made me realize that it wasn't necessary so I told the dealership I intended to ride out my lease and then buy it out. That's not what they wanted to hear so they threw this offer at me and I felt I couldn't say no. They wanted my truck for resale and they got it. Now I can plan on buying this one out until they rip this one from me too lol

Ha! Duffs or bust!! Although my oldest really wants to try Anchor Bar. He’s only ever had Duffs, Elmo’s and LaNova. We were going to check out the new Anchor location at the old Cracker Barrel some weekend. Meet us and have a beer and some wings. I’ll buy. My side kick will probably eat 15 wings by himself... and 8 glasses of milk... he will break the bank. Lol I’ll shoot you a PM when we’re going. Probably after his football season ends in late October. Until then his life consists of school, football practice everyday, Friday night games, Saturday film and Sunday is family day. Love your new truck. Seeet!
