    opinions appreciated

I have a Demello bumper on order but it has come time to decide if I want a bull bar or not. This bumper will be going on a 2017 sr5 that only does highway miles so not really for off-road use. I drive an hour to work daily and at night I see a lot of deer, hogs and the occasional escaped cow on the road so I wanted to upgrade my bumper a bit. Demello recently put up the following pictures if there bumper without a bar, second is a low profile bar and the third is a regular bar. I think they all look great and am a bit torn which to get

no bull bar. looks cleaner without it IMO

I like 2 or 3. Hard to get a true feel of how it looks without full context of the truck though.

I’m pretty sure that the hoop, attached to the bumper, is more commonly called a “stinger”. Bull bars are wrapped down and under, to the frame horns.

Regardless of what you call it, the welded hoop on the Demello bumper should provide you some additional collision protection

    Some zoomed out shots

Also changed the title, I think Demello called it a hoop, so I’m going to run with that

Also the one pictured is raw metal still being worked, mine will be powder coated black

They call it a hoop because it's a prerunner hoop. If it's just for looks, go without. The extra length sucks for DD if you won't be offroading.

Are you wanting to put lights on top of the bumper above the lightbar? If so I would go as low as you can and still fit your light of choice. Otherwise I’d say no bar.

No lights on top, only going to run the light bar.

I believe the lights are just for a spacing reference

I like 2 or 3, but if your concern is for animals at night, 3 for sure. The little bit higher bar i think would provide more protection for your front end.

For a farm truck, hell yeah. If you are spending money to protect your truck from deer, stand back and think about it for a minute. How much are you going to spend on that thing vs your deductible? Those are pretty low, they wont do much for protection from a deer or cow...may help with a hog. But then what? It is gonna be all fucked up and you are gonna have to fix it anyway.

high bar if you're concerned about animals.... otherwise it will most likely smash up everything but the bumper when you hit it.
