I’m always trying to improve the on road handling of my truck. But I’d like to maintain the factory ride height as much as possible. I did front and rear sway bars and got the TRD Bilstein red and blue shocks. I’m now looking for other things that could improve the handling. I was looking at the Coachbuilder +1 shackles as I’ve read of improved handling and reduced bed bounce. However I’d rather not have the .625” lift. Is it the shackles themselves that improve it or the poly bushing? Any ideas as to what else I could do to improve handling?

Also does anyone have a picture of their truck with the CB +1 and 1 CB shim on each side, just the 0.5”? Curious if just the 0.5” lift total would look with stock sized tires and wheels.

I dropped the rear suspension, and added air-lift bags plus a rear sway bar. Bilstein 4600 series shocks, same as what you have. I also installed a set of Toyo Proxes ST III tires, they are great warm weather street tires. The truck sits level, and it handles excellent.

I think the bushings help more than the shackles but they do work as a system. The coachbuilders are very sturdy. Less twisting and deflection. I feel that my rear end is more predictable and solid along with better flex.

No, the bags are for if/when I haul a heavy load or tow something.

It's lowered by hanging the leaf springs under the axle, instead of on top of the axle.

Ahhh that’s what it is. I noticed something different other than the way the sway bar is mounted.

The sway bar is mounted that way for clearance, and it uses shorter end links. The ride on my short wheel base truck is great, and I imagine that a longer wheel base truck would ride even smoother with just the rear lowered. SOS Performance has everything you need... you can save a few dollars buying the shorter Bilstein shocks for the rear elsewhere.
