Heading out to the prairies this evening for a family wedding. We have an 8 hour journey ahead of us and we didn’t head out in after 7pm. Kids cranky, wife rushing, interior freshly detailed and French fries are inevitable (even though they’ve been forbidden). We’re pulling a 20ft 4000lbs travel trailer getting 29.2 L/100km (8.05 mpg), but I’ve got my eye on the odometer.

The 100k appearance on the dash is keeping me going. 3 hours into the trip I’m only 14km to my 100,000km milestone. I’ve got the entire thing played out in my mind to capture this monumental event. Phone rings and next thing you know it’s 100,007km reading on the dash! I’m so deflated!

Well at least we can rest in a Walmart parking lot at 2am with street lights blaring in and all the hoodlums with there shopping cart shenanigans to keep me focused on everything but sleep!
