I had the idea to offer a dealer to swap wheels from one tundra to another so I can get the type of wheels on the trim package that I wanted. Has anybody had success doing this? If it works, I will end up with a new platinum with TRD off-road wheels.

I don't think will swap between trims on OEM wheels. It will affect the sale ability of the TRD OR. I struggled with a dealer on deleting step rails. Problem there was most trucks on their lot had them. All you can do is make an offer contingent on the wheels.

I was able to do it on my wifes Nissan back in 07 - we didn't notice until later on though that the wheel locks that were switched out as well - they went to the other set of wheels

I had different tires but I doubt they will take the wheels off one trim package and put them on.
They will have to buy them

You can say you want different wheels and they can order them unless they have them in parts.

They wont switch them and if they offered to do it I would go to a different dealer. Who knows what they swapped off what if you buy a truck there

On my 19 they swapped out the steps for me from the round rail to the predator steps. They wouldn’t take them off of another truck though they ordered a new set for mine and put my set on a used truck they had. Steps are much cheaper then the wheels though. It wouldn’t hurt to ask though.

adding the TRD OR package is like $60 on a Platinum. Just find one with it.

They might make a deal on a set of Wheels, they have a lot if markup in them.

They might even have a set of take-offs from another truck.

Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
Not sure on my new tundra, but all my vehicles before it had the VIN stamped on the wheels.

VIN are commonly stamped on various parts of a vehicle to deter chop shops and thefts of parts like wheels. Problem is the dumb thieves probably don't know or care.
