SO I found that I really dont like the stock headlights. For such a big truck they sure dont shine out to far. Was thinking about changing them out to something a little more illuminating. Any suggestions that wont break the bank?

@Roman parts guy, get the 2019 TRD PRO headlights and either Rigid SAE fogs or Baja Designs SAE fogs

I just want to change out the bulbs not the assembly. I like the overall look , just need more light.

I felt the same way and got the micro evolution vled’s and was pretty happy with the improvement over OEM for under $150.
Low beams are quite good, High beams are better than OEM but meh, I kept switching and generally prefer the low beam with the fogs on. Then I added LED fog lamp bulbs, which improved lighting...

but when I replaced the fogs completely with Baja Design sport combo lights. BAM!!! What a difference.

Passenger side is the BD and Driver is OEM with LED.
Hard to tell in daylight, but the BD lights are super bright and don’t bother oncoming traffic.

which LED fog light bulb did you use? Do they fit without changing or modifying the housing?

Can you adjust your headlights with the switch inside? If not try to adjust them manually and see if they make any diff. Mine is 2016 and the OEM head lights (not LED) are the best I've ever had. Very bright and cover both sides ... Shouldn't be much different than 2015. See if you can adjust! the oem fog lights on the other hand are lame! I can't tell if they are on or off.

Got them on Amazon”alla lighting” I ended up getting amber but would get the clear. No modification. Just plug and play. $25 for the set.

Is the clear much brighter than amber? I'm hoping both colors are much better than oem!

    This... can make a difference.
the Amber was a lot brighter than OEM. I imagine the clear are as bright or more due to the broader spectrum. It’s a nice mod for $25.

Really? My 2015 stock headlights were the worst lights I have had on a vehicle since the old 5x7" sealed beams. I went with OEM LED headlights and they are great.
OP- it really isn't recommended that you stick LED bulbs into your stock headlight or fog light housings. The reflectors are not designed for that type of bulb and will scatter unusable light all over, including into oncoming traffic making you a hazard of the road. Yes they will look very bright and appear to light up the road better, but it's not efficient lighting and is dangerous. I'm sure you have had a few cars driving towards you that blind you with bright white or blueish headlights, that is from putting LED or HID bulbs in halogen housings. My suggestion is do it the right way and the safe way, which leaves you with options being OEM LEDs or proper a projector retrofit

I think Toyota is tweaking stuff every month or year. I've had other family members saying the headlights are so nice & bright! they are not LED and I'm glad since I don't like white/blue light. I have it set a little higher than the lowest setting (with the inside adjustment knob) and never get high beamed by others.
Also some say that their turn signal is very dim (when head lights are on) and I don't have that problem either. My turn signal is using the DRL lights which are very bright! They are amber and not LED. I prefer the amber over the newer white LEDs.
The only problem is my fog lights ...

btw, you are right about putting LED lights inside regular housing. I've heard that before!

You guys have any installed 2019 LEDs installed on your earlier version 3rd Gens? Im doing those (I assume) or the Miromoto Retrofits...agreed, the OEM headlights are like a Maglight without batteries...

Dozens only members here have done 2018 and 2019 LED headlights in earlier year trucks. I did and love them. I have one suggestion....get a hardness from @iHacker and no one else. He sells the best harness and backs up his product. Don't skimp out on a cheap version, the headlights and your trucks electrical system are not cheap, so buy a legit ihacker harness and you'll be very happy.

Excuse my nievity...still learning the forum; can you direct me to some photos of your upgraded system? I hear you loud and clear on crying once, doing once, the right way...I couldn't agree more especially with electrical modifications...thank you in advance!

Heres is what they look like. I don't have pics of the install but I did a thread in the lighting forum about them. Also check out the ihacker harness thread

If you buy a cheap led light from ebay/Amazon yes it will scatter. If you get a good quality led from a reputable vendor that mimics the halogen OEM bulb it will be an improvement. Further range, better color, greater illumination up close, etc. Reflector lenses work well with halogen/led lights and projectors work well with halogen/HID lights. Of course the led or HID needs to mimic the stock bulb to be effective. The led chips need to be placed similarly to the filament and vice versa.

I installed Halogen Osram Nightbreakers Unlimited. They are whiter and brighter than stock. Any reflective material, striped lines and signs really pop out. I do wish they were even brighter wattage wise, but they are doing the trick. I am thinking of HIDS sometime in the future.

Make sure the HIDs are built into a housing that mimics the halogen bulb. If you put just a skinny HID bulb in a reflector housing you'll blind everyone and thing in your 100ft path lol!

Glad your experience has been good...
I purchase Gen 3 spyders last year and mine are in rough shape.
Clear coat is peeling and flaking and a portion of the led drl tube just blacked out the other day...
