These headlights outperform anything Factory LED Toyota can come up with for now. No discussion needed

I wonder if you buy a set now while they still send error screen would they compensate some $$ after purchase?

The only problem I am having is the sequential turn is hyper flashing. I suspect it is due to an impedance issue with my winjet tail lights. So for now I have it set up as a conventional blinker.

I am pretty happy with the performance of my factory LED headlights. Certainly happy enough to keep them for what these would cost to replace them. Now if I had the old halogen then I might consider them. They are awesome looking headlights and the blinkers are pretty cool too.

Has anyone with OEM LED DRL installed these? I have a 14 platinum with the LED DRL and the instructions don’t seem to be correct. It seems like the instructions are switched for the two models.

I’ll attach a picture of my factory harness and the harness I’m supposed to use.

Everything seems to work like it’s supposed to when I wire up my truck that DOES have LED DRL per the instructions for the models that do NOT have LED DRL.

The picture shows what’s hooked up. It’s a bit cluttered, but I pointed to everything.

One tab per light is off too. They bend into place, but I think it’s weird it didn’t fit like OE.

I was using VLEDs Triton turn signals with my last set of heads with one of their load resistors. I had them hooked up in the back of the truck in addition to the load resistors that were installed with my aftermarket LED tails.

My sequential turn signals work @gruntyota

I’m a little curious about this step since I have LED DRL prewired for my platinum. I’m going to confirm with TRS that it’s a necessary step.

After getting everything hooked up I unplugged the fuse tap. Everything seemed to work like it did with it plugged in. Maybe it should be just for the trucks that don’t have LED DRL?

Maybe due to shipping and the plastic got hot on the way to you? I’d call whoever ya got them from because they fit like oem.

How much adjusting did you have to do? I swear mine are both straight to the ground. It is not the leveling switch. At 20 feet the beam is where the wall meets ground.

getting me interested... got to have something attract me away from my 2018 Platinum OEM's. I had a pair of aftermarket headlights that fit like that with having to bend the mounting point to the connection point and it fit ok but it did end up breaking right where it was stressed from bending.

TRD_femi, did you swap your OEM TRDP headlights for these Morimotos? I was wondering if these were PnP for trucks equipped with halogen lights and amber DRL?

gruntyota, same question to you. What trim level / headlights did you swap out for these? I thought I read originally these were for trucks equipped with LED DRLs, but looking at the instructions others have posted, it seems to be PnP for any.

My 2015 SR5 came with the non drl halogens. However I am coming from a set of custom retrofits to these.

looking at the instructions again, you had to swap the relay under the dash?

I just talked to TRS and I think they’re going to have the instructions updated. A couple things...

The DRL fuse tap isn’t necessary for the people who have LED DRL from the factory. Trucks that are prewired for it can power the LED DRL and turn signals in the Morimoto lights.

The instructions right now say trucks with and without OEM LED DRL. I wired the lights using the instructions that for trucks WITHOUT OEM LED DRL, but my truck came prewired (platinum) for the LED DRL.

The included adapter is if you have the multipin connector or the H4 hi/low. The other adapter is if you need to swap wires for the turn signals. I’m pretty sure the people with OEM LED headlights are the ones that need to use the harness. The people who went from halogen to LED headlights will know what I’m talking about. We had to use an adapter or repin to make the turn signals work.

    I hope this helps.

Here are some photos of the back of halogen and LED headlights. Might be helpful when comparing them to the XB headlights and what adapters you’ll need to use.

I’m making it sound more complicated than it is. Just be a little flexible when you’re reading the online instructions for the XB lights.

    Now I'm confused.
I'll be going from a TRS retrofit to the XBs, what instructions do I use?

If your truck is prewired for LED DRL, you won’t need the LED fuse tap.

If your truck doesn’t use the multipin connector , then you won’t need to use the included adapter / harness.

I’m not 100% on who needs to use the turn signal adapter. I think it’s the people with OEM LED headlights. Easy thing is look at the wiring when it’s connected and make sure it lines up.

If you look at the adapter you’ll see how it moves the wires in the plugs. Pre adapter the black and yellow wires are next to each other. After the adapter there’s a blank spot between them.

Are you asking about the fuse tap? If so, it’s needed to power the LED DRL. So if you’re truck didn’t come with LED DRL, you’ll need it.
