Hello, just curious if this is a normal thing since this is my first Tundra. But in the morning (if the vehicle is not quite warmed up), when driving to a stop or down shifting to slow down I feel the engine rev up. This is within 2 blocks of my home. It also does this with the AC on. Is this normal?

I don't seem to notice it if the engines all warmed up and I've driven it a while. Truck is nearly 10k.

    Thanks in advance,

Yes RPM will rise. Even when you turn the steering wheel the rpm will go up and down a little. It will be even more noticeable in the winter.

    Enjoy the drive!

My truck does this as well, it's especially noticable when making slow turns in the neighborhood. The engine likes to rev more than I'd expect unless I'm being very light on the throttle.

It does it coming off of speed bumps, too. It's like the truck wants to go, go, go and I'm like "nope, slow down there champ".

LOL funny, the beast is just lurking underneath I suppose. Still need to get use to it like that "anti-lock" thud sound at 7mph.

True, it's more noticeable when it's cold.

Ok thanks for the response. I guess it's better than the Chevy's transmission thud or exhaust leak sound on acceleration.
