Newbie request for help! P2441 code - advice on just erasing via reader or disconnecting battery

    2007 Tundra SR5 5.7 liter double cab
    Hi all - we inherited a 2007 5.7L Tundra last year with only 40,000 miles on it from my wife's stepfather; now has 52,000 miles. About 10 days ago the "check engine" light went on for the first time; my cheap code reader said P2441 - secondary air injection (no limp mode). I erased it by disconnecting the battery, which cleared it; drove it 350 miles one day with about 8-10 starts/stops and no light; it has since come on twice (and I cleared it).

    I have read on this forum and elsewhere the horror stories of the secondary air injection components; the $2000-$3500 "fixes" (that may or may not work); the various bypasses; and this truck being out of the extended warranty because of age (certainly not because of miles).

    Since we are scheduled to leave on a 6-week cross country trip in about 2 weeks (about 6000 miles total, pulling a smallish travel trailer!) and the corresponding logistical problems of getting a dealer "fix" or a bypass in that time (and I'm not a mechanic by any means), I'm asking if there are big problems (and their likelihood of happening) if I try to postpone the pain and just keep clearing the P2441 code (and others if they happen) by the code reader or disconnecting the battery for 6 weeks/6,000 miles? Thanks in advance for any advice!
