I've owned my f250 for 12 years and only had two Rock chips.
Had tundra for 6 months and so far had 6 rock chips fixed .
    Till tuesday that is.
Heading home from work it was a nice sun shining day.
About 10 drops of rain hit the windshield.
    Then I saw it.
A softball size piece of hail falling from heaven above .
Like a beacon that God hates my truck .
It bounced off road and busted my windshield .
    Didn't even bust the hail.
It bounced off my truck and hit the guy behind me .
Didn't rain or hail a drop after that.
I mean really what the hell.
I had a new windshield installed yesterday .
But drove the old 2002 f250 today.
I just can't stomach my tundra having anything else happen to it for a while.

    Sorry to hear/see the damage.

Sorry about your truck that really sucks. Also sorry for laughing out loud as I read most of that story, picturing you watching this hail beacon coming at your truck with an angry cartoon face on it.

Driving back from lunch today and watched the rock fly out from under the tires of the Jeep ahead of me, go over the Honda Fit, curve to the right and *tink*. Thanks for the bad luck Tigwelder!...

I sympathize, took a big rock to the windshield don the way to coast 2 weeks ago. Add to the pain my daughter got hit last week.

Still not as bad as when I owned a jeep. Because of the angle of the windshield nothing bounced off so I was replacing the windshield at least once a year if not twice. It was so bad I got a nice little chip on the way home form the dealer that day I bought it.

Funny parallel....I had a F250 too, drove it all the time, and no rocks. Got the Tundra in March, and a rock hit the windshield last month.
How did your windshield replacement experience go? I've heard that it can cost $1k because of the TSS camera in the windshield.....and you might have to go to the dealer to get it recalibrated after install. Did you find any of that to be true??

    Not sure of cost.
    Insurance paid .
    My part was $100
But I have paperwork in truck .I'll have to look and see if total cost is on it.
And being from Texas I've never heard of windshield warmers .
I told glass place I didn't have that on my truck .
    Guess what . I did .
I didn't want to wait for a nother glass to be ordered so I had them install the one with out warmer.
Don't think I'll have much problems with ice.
