I run 15% on all my vehicles and always have. 1 time got a ticket - simple fix it. Had a friend who was a cop, signed it off (Yup Fixed!) Then 1 time in the 90s, I was building houses in sac - Excramento ca., and was on the freeway I80 business loop, and Motorcycle cop pulled me over. he was all pissed about the tint, and literally scratched the tint and tore half of it off on both windows :ohsnap:
He ensured I would be removing that tint, and I did. Replaced it with more 15%.

Only my daughters that faces west. It is a big horizontal slider and was a real pain the ass to tint. My truck has legal tint on front windows and stickers to proof it. Windshield strip is not legal but if at AS1 line it would be worthless. Passed inspection.

I was an LEO for 14 1/2 years with 3 different agencies. I remember at my first one making a traffic stop and was going to give a warning. The driver showed his ass and I put the warning book of tickets back in its case and pulled out the ones that will cost you. The driver talked himself into a total of 4 violations.

By the time the 4th was being added his attitude did a sudden about face.:sadviolin:

In Virginia, my window tint passes inspection, but they won't pass my offroad lights unless they have covers on them. So I guess it's better to have decreased visibility at night (???) Doesn't make much sense, but there it is.

Do you ever drive over the speed limit? 36 in a 35 is ILLEGAL and therefore must be reckless. Seriously, you’re that worried about window tint?

It's illegal if you get caught and it's over the legal limit. Most likely get a fix it ticket.

Not true, some small towns in Oregon, state troopers/sheriff or LEO will pull you over to harass you cause there's nothing else to do. Especially if your tint is too dark. Pretty easy to identify if it's over 35%/38%

Illegal is legal until you get caught. Then it's illegal. Ask millions of people who break the law every day.
Peeps gonna do what peeps gonna do.
Go illegal, I don't care, but the cop and judge might, take that chance, go for it.
Just don't cry like a 6 year old school girl when you have to pay the fine or have to spend the money to get it fixed to the legal limit.
Me, i'm getting to old to be a rebel. I don't like tickets (I've had my share) and I don't like spending my valuable time waiting for a judge to call my name or mailing the guilty fine to the court..

Tinted my truck with 15% all the way around and a limo brow, same with the wife's 4Runner. Have never had an issue. But I don't drive like an idiot or give the cops a reason to take a second glance at me. Both vehicles are perfectly fine at night and that's coming from someone who HATES driving limo'd trucks at night, some of you must be blind.
