Went out on impulse to test drive the Tundra yesterday and it got me looking around for deals.

    A little back history:
    • Currently own a 2014 Taco, Dbl Cab, 4x4, TRD Sport
    • Taco is not my daily drive and used mostly on weekends and camping trips
    • I tow a light pop up trailer; around 1900 dry weight. (just got back from El Capitan State Beach this weekend)
    • Family of 4 with occasional 5th tag along
    • I want to upgrade from popup to a small travel trailer
What I like about the Tundra
    • The wife is on board with upgrading lol
    • The interior space
    • The power to tow bigger
    • The sliding rear window. I completely went nerd watching the damn thing lol
I have a few concerns/questions for the forum:
    • With 2020 models soon coming, I'm considering waiting to see if it at least gets an extra USB slot lol. I like the truck but it sucks to lose things like the bed outlet and storage space.
    • Is the TRD sport trim the only line without chrome? I really dont like chrome.
    • For any california based members, do you recommend a particular dealership? mind sharing your OTD tag?

My most important questions to ask:
    • Where online can I get a "true" value for my tacoma. I want to trade it in?
    • Where online can I get a "True" value for the purchase of a Tundra.
    Thanks!

or just get a higher package on the SR5 like i did and use the money you saved to make it your own. Mine is completely original. most of the crap on a TRD people upgrade anyway(ie. suspension, wheels, etc). The only thing that you dont get is the side stamped metal TRDPRO on the bed and maybe some different decals on the interior which again there are better options to customize it.

Welcome! New member here as well. I still have my 07 Tacoma and am selling it privately as opposed to trading it in. However if you know what you want for yours, just take it to several Toyota dealers and see what they’ll offer- then tell them what you really want for it even if that’s 5k more than their offer. They’ll give you quite a lot more if they want to make a sale.

Also, check out auto deals with Costco, I got 3k off my Tundra Limited through them.

I’m not sure about the extra usb, but I do know that the 2020 will have apple carplay which is one thing I wish I waited another 6 months for. Also, I have a power outlet getting installed with my canopy next week for $120. I’m sure it won’t be as nicely placed as the Tacoma’s but it gets the job done.

    Welcome from NY.
Get whatever model you like, you can always remove the chrome and color match it.
Good luck with your decision.
