Bought some stuff off a guy who has a 2019 TRD. He gave me a couple of Bilstein shocks that were taken off his truck with only 300 miles. I have about 35000 miles on my SR5. Would I be able to notice a difference if I put them on mine and is it worth the hassle?

Does your SR5 have the TRD package (with the same yellow shocks) or do you have the black shocks? If you have the TRD package then you likely will not see any difference by installing these. (I picked up some TRD shocks that were included with a box of other parts I did want and I sold the shocks cheap to help cover the cost of the things I did want).

If you have the black shocks then these will be not as plush. I would mix non-TRD shocks in the front with TRD shocks in the read - I doubt that it would give improve the ride at all.

Unable to look at the moment, but mine is the basic SR5, no TRD.

OK - I saw the TRD wheels in your avatar pict but no TRD sticker so I was not sure. Since it does not have the TRD package you have the black shocks. The TRD shocks (front and back) are not as plush as the black shocks and the on-street feel will be more bumpy. If you wanted to upgrade to the TRD shocks you could try to find fronts to match (people upgrade their suspension all the time and there are always front TRD shocks on craigslist and this site). Another option would be to put Bilstein 5100's or 6112's in front and you could pair these with the yellow TRD shocks.

If you are happy with how your truck handles on the street and do want to level it or take it off-road then my suggestion would be to post the shocks on CL and help cover the cost of the other parts that you purchased.

    Excellent. Makes perfect sense.

Yeh, I finally got the TRD wheels that I had been looking for. They came with the LTX A/T 2 tires so I put the LTX on my old wheels and trying to sell. I will likely do as you mentioned and try to get a little something out of the shocks in order to get the wheels and tires moved. It's been slow going on CL and FB Marketplace.

Just learned the hard way that I can't sell anything on here yet. :)

Anyway, thanks all for the input.

What year is your Tundra? If you have a few years and mileage on it those freebie TRD's would be a good replacement if your stock Tokico's, (sometimes KYB's) are shot.

Never really go off-road and rarely tow anything.
