We have a 2016 4X4 5.7 L V8 short bed tundra with tow pkg and 9200 lbs towing capacity. We are looking at purchasing a new 30 ft 5/th wheel trailer. The trailer is made to be pulled by 1/2 ton trucks and is 7200 lbs dryweight. I figure 1,000 added lbs for gear, so we are within 1,000 lbs of the max towing capacity. We are maxing out the trucks payload capacity with the 5/th wheel and hitch. Is this trailer safe to be pulled with our Tundra? I would love to hear about other tundras pulling similar loads.
