Why did Toyota remove the manual height bench pump lever in the 3rd Gen? How can I lower the driver seat? I am 6'4", and I have head room, but my eyes are level with the visor. I cannot see stop lights unless a lean my head down near the dash and strain to look up. Leaning the seat back is not an option, because then I cannot reach the steering wheel unless I slide it forward until my knees are pressed into the dashboard. I hate driving my truck because of the restricted vision; it's like having my head up in the top of an umbrella. 2018 TRD, leather heated and cooled manual bench seats. I've been beating myself up for buying this truck since I drove it off the lot. Dealer (Tony Divino Toyota) is ZERO help with this issue.

What year did they stop the pump lever?

6'9" here. I feel the pain. Leaning the seat back is an option for me as I have long arms and can comfortably reach the wheel.

Not surprised the dealer won't help. They can't. The seat is considered part of the safety system, which has to follow guidelines for legal sale and is therefore untouchable as per NTSB requirements. And anyway, as an OEM associate, if they touch it and you get hurt, they'll get sued into bankruptcy and/or lose their OEM relationship. No dealer in their right mind would do such a thing, no matter how much they'd like to make you happy.

Fortunately for us there are modifiers out there who can help, and even make the seat stronger/safer than factory. I know a guy who owned a shop that modified all the Chicago Bulls vehicles/seats for years, for example.

Where are you located? Its worth calling around to classic car restoration shops in your area and being friendly, asking who might be able to help.

My steering wheel telescopes, perhaps you could try that? Put the seat where you want it then bring the wheel to you? Not trying to be a smart ass.

Not trying to be that guy, but didn’t you realize that when you bought it?

Don’t tell me you bought it without test driving it.
