Have the above truck for a couple months, love it.

Since a few days after getting it, I noticed I would sometimes turn the key and get power to accessories but not a crank. If I shifted to N then back to P it would often crank. I noticed that shifting to N and leaving it there would start every time.

A few days ago I was parked on an incline. I'm pretty anal about setting the parking brake, but didn't and the truck rolled as if it was in neutral or drive. I pressed the brake to stop the rolling and heard/saw the shifter pop into park.

Since then, I've noticed if I get a no-crank and press forward on the shifter, all is well and it will start right up without ever leaving P.

I had been thinking the neutral safety switch might have been bad and was looking into replacing it. Being able to very slightly press forward on the shift knob (not enough movement to be actually moving anything farther down the linkage towards the transmission itself - maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch) makes me think its a less invasive issue.

Any thoughts? I have no problem tearing into it looking for a sensor or some linkage abnormality - but figured I'd ask to see if it's a known problem before charging in blindly. Search yielded no resolution.

I have not seen anyone on here post about this issue. How many miles on the truck? Is it still under drive train warranty?

As above. Dangerous condition. What you said earlier. Something loose or off in the linkage. I would take it Asap.

It has 45k on the Odometer. Guess I'll run it in, thanks!
