I want to run a 12v 8 amp water pump to fill a 45 gal tank and plug it into the flat plug on my 2018 tundra. The motor says it is 8 amps. looks like I must have the running lights on to use this plug. My problem is finding the fuse so I cam replace it if I blow it. Cannot find the interior fuse cover to get to the fuses. Youtube usually helps but does not show where the panel is on a 2018 tundra. Cannot see it above the brake pedal and I removed the side panel and all I see is several relay plugs. where is the panel?

Is there a easier way to power up my pump? Besides running wires, opening the hood and connecting directly to the battery?

It takes more than 8 amps to run an 8 amp pump, energy is lost by the time water is actually moving, plus overcoming gravity, etc. but good luck...

Several white plastic plugs under the cowling on the left of the E brake. I do not see the fuse box or panel.

I’d go with a fuse at least 50% higher, 12 amp to be safe, as safe as can be with whatever you’re attempting...lol

Thanks Jrharvey02 I will first see if there is a 15 amp fuse. Scares me to put one in larger unless I know I will not fry the wiring before the fuse blows.

Do you have 7 pin/trailer brake wiring on your truck? If so, the constant power lead from that would be more appropriate for the load you're talking about.

Use an inline fuse to protect the wiring.

Go buy a set of battery clamps like you'd find on a battery charger, an inline fuse holder, and connect it straight to the battery.

ya I planned a inline fuse anyway but since I gotta " stand on my head" to change a effing fuse the next easiest thing to do is to go directly to the battery.
Thanks guys for all the great advice!
