Ok, so installed a Westin Maxx Winch tray on my 2nd gen, in conjunction with an x-bull 13k lbs winch. I am experiencing power drop when winching, unless I hold the accelerator at about 1200rpm. I was going to install the Genesis dual battery setup, however now I am considering installing a slightly smaller pulley to increase the alternator rpm at idle. One this would be less expensive, and two I wouldn't need to get ride of the expensive optima battery I already purchased. My question is while providing me with the power I need to operate the winch, will it possibly damage the rest of the factory electrical wiring or components?

What CCA battery do you have now?

Good start, you won’t burn up your solenoids in the winch.

I upgraded my alternator to a 160A, have a better battery, smaller winch, and I still need to add some throttle when winching. FYI.

Ideally I want to be able to operate the winch without being in the cab. That way I can keep eyes on it without having to worry about the other person either standing and watching, or operating the truck while I stand and watch.
