Has anyone else installed the TRD intake on their 5.7? I recently installed mine and the baffle that goes into the fender was to long. I ended up having to reuse the factory bafffle to plug into the side of the airbox. Is this a known issue?

It will fit. You need to shove it into the fender past where you think it should stop. I thought the same as the bolt holes wouldn't line up. After shoving it into the fender further you're good to go.

    Edit: Updated with Picture.

The intake tube that goes into the fender is flexible. Squeeze it and push it through the fender. Hint: It does not seal around the fender wall. Push it in a little further and everything will line up as it should.

That part will be loose. Some people are putting a rubber seal to make it snug. Once
You install that piece with the bottom part it is secured.

Just here to add that I had no issues with install and the others are correct, it is flexible just squeeze it down and then shove through fender opening, line up open slot on air box side

0617180720.jpg Mine fit well on my 2010. No gaps or looseness. If it wouldn't have fit properly, I wouldn't have kept it, much too OCD.

I like that. So the foam is from the factory one? I think I still got mine laying around somewhere, and will try the same.

You can buy “sticky foam” tape. The SABM kit from TRDshop comes with it.

Too much OCD?.....your rubber hose on the air intake tube isn't pushed on all the way (right up against the large tube)....that bugs me and it's not my truck. I have OCD too.

I think you're good! My intake tube is different than yours and it looked like the hose could be slid onto the nipple more (circled in the picture). I tried searching for more images since mine is different. That nipple coming off the intake tube is really long - I didn't realize how long, so it looked like the hose wasn't fully on. Not sure if that makes sense, but like I said looking at it again I think that's probably as far as it goes. I really like how your engine cover matches the intake.

I really appreciate your help here Paul, thanks much:thumbsup:. I went out and checked on the hose going onto the Red Tube and it's maxed-out. My Engine Cover was Grey with Silver Trim but I got some ideas from other members and made 'em match! There's probably Medication available for my condition:help::devil:

Did you tape off and paint the engine cover? If so, any chance you recall which paint was used? The colors look spot on.

Yep, had to use a couple different sizes of tape and a few really light coats to 'fog' the plastic enough for adhesion. After one failed attempt on the red, I finally found the correct flavor. Krylon for plastic in the color "Sundried Tomato" ended up being closer than "Gloss Red Pepper" which I bought first. The Toyota emblem comes off with some 'convincing' and get's epoxied back on.

What is the added benefit of adding the TRD air intake??? Just bought a 2019 TRD PRO and was surprised to see that this did not make the list of standard TRD options....Is this a must add, for sound, performance??

I didn't really gain anything, but also didn't expect to either. I'd say you gain some eye candy under the hood, but don't expect any real performance or MPG gains. I got mine in April when Toyota did their big 40% off sale and scored it for about $255 which was worth it to me.

I'd add this feature for that price for sure!!! Does look nice under the hood based on these photos.
