    Nice tint job OP.

I just did my Lexus with 27% on all windows. It is amazing how much cooler the inside stays. Forgot what that was like for a moment. I was going to do the front windshield, but my current windshield is 9 years old and is pitted.

My truck needs to be tinted on all glass. I can just feel the sun beating on me driving.

Something to remember, on vehicles that "look" like the rear glass is tinted, this glass is just colored glass and offers no UV protection.

Doesn't glass, by it's very nature offer relatively high UV protection? That's my understanding, that's why my Transition lenses don't darken when in an automobile with clear glass or when I'm sitting by the window at the cafe. I thought that tint blocks more in the infrared spectrum where the heat is.

Years ago, I forget the original source, it was explained to me that a white T-shirt (for example) is more comfortable because it reflect in the IR spectrum but not as much in the UV end and was "technically" not as "safe" in the sun. And in the inverse, a black T-shirt reflects UV but absorbs IR but is too uncomfortable to wear in hot, sunny climes. I'll poke around to see if I can find a reputable link that supports or debunks to share here.

Thank You. You've got a nice truck as well. Small world, Robins is in the middle of nowhere. I've got 295/60/20 STT Pros on my truck.

My transition lenses don't darken completely when driving, but noticed that they do a little bit depending upon which vehicle I am driving. You are correct in that clear glass does provide SOME UV protection - I think windshields more than sides. When looking around for material supporting the installation of windshield tint, I saw a video of some measurements a tint shop in Hawaii used to not only advertise their findings, but to provide some real world measurements. The issue they were addressing is skin cancer concerns. (See article posted above ^^^ by ColoradoTJ)

    UPDATE Found it: http://www.tnttinting.com/image/new-legal-clear-heat-blocking-front-windshield-film

They measured the clear glass vs. no glass and then with the tint. There was measurable reduction in UV, IR and significant reduction in heat with the tint over clear glass. There were many examples of heat rejection that I found - I'll try to find them again. But in a practical sense, I put tint in my truck mainly for the heat rejection which is real, but side benefits for UV and IR. As an example, if my truck sits in the Texas sun in 90+ temps for an hour, it is very hard to touch the steering wheel without tinted windshield; now, while still being hot, I can touch it and drive off. It also 'seems' to take less time to cool down - it 'feels' this way, but I have not measured it in any way.

Nice, I'll take a look at it when I return home.

My rationale for tint is practical as well. To protect my interior and myself from the UV/IR (I'm part ginger). To keep cab temperatures down, I'll even go so far as to park my truck facing away from where the sun is, or is going to be for the longest duration. Makes a significant difference, particularly at high elevations.

I hear ya. I also have one of these that I use whenever truck (or wife's Honda) is going to sit out in the sun for a while:

Texas has gotten strict with tint, especially TX DPS. Trust me from experience and court fees, go legal on the front two windows.

I agree. My tint shop would not do anything other than legal. That's why I have Xpel XR35 (35%) on 2 front doors and XR88 (88%) all rear windows, sunroof and windshield which is almost clear and meets TX DPS requirements.

Have you noticed any off-gassing? Every windshield shade that I've tried in the past does, this leaves a cloudy haze on the inside of the glass that I find intolerable at night.

I did 15 all around including on top of rear factory tint and a 15 strip on top of windshield. It's perfect for me.

Had mine done a couple weeks ago. At first was just going to do the front but decided to do all five windows. Dropped the front to around 15% and the rear to around 9%. The 15% is just right not to dark not to light. WV is kinda boring with tint(35% max) and State Inspection but hey I do my own sticker so "Its Good"
