I have a 08 with 203k on it. A few months ago my check engine light came on, 4LO/4HI blinking with VSC blinking as well and my truck went into Limp mode, it gets up to about 40 mph and thats it. I have had it to 4 shops and all they do is clear the CPU and charge me 100$. Advance and Oreily wont clear codes anymore as its now against corp. Im stuck and need some help. Any ideas?

What are the codes that they're clearing? Clearing codes doesn't fix the problem.

Which codes? They will be key in being able to help with the diagnosis.

as far as clearing the codes, you can take the battery cable off for a couple minutes or buy your own OBDII scanner. Better fix the root cause as more damage may be occurring. :spending:

Sounds like the AIP's are going to be the culprit. What year and mileage are you at?

Edit: I'm dumb and didn't read that you already provided the year and mileage...:der:

I had this exact problem on my 07 crewmax limited with 88000 miles two summers ago. My tire shop who also does some mechanical jobs found that a small skid plate just aft of the muffler was gone and the heat from the muffler was causing a wire harness to malfunction. He replaced the harness and fabricated a small shield for just under four hundred bucks and the problem has not come back. I would love to tell you what the wiring harness was but the paperwork is in a storage unit 600 miles away. He said that it would be a harness that comes on the main wiring attached to the frame.

Unfortunately it's probably an AIP problem, here's a thread devoted to this subject. Please read the entire thread is there are good suggestions on how to fix this issue. I made a couple of posts on the subject too.

Air pump failure. Failed pump or pumps cause you to go into limp mode.
