Trans temp question...

    So i usually fly my flag from the driver side front bed post hole this time of year. But now i cant since I put a bed cap on my truck. When i tried to fly one from the trailer hitch it made my trans temp light come on and the truck wouldn't start unless i unplugged the battery and then plugged it back in. Does anyone know why that is??? and is there a way to disable it? Thanks for any help or feedback!
