On my way to work this morning and got into an accident. The truck still starts, suprised. Be driving for about 10+ years never had a accident like this. What are my chances they can fix this. All airbags except passenger deployed. I have no experience with a major accidents being filed.20190701_061328.jpg 20190701_061343.jpg 20190701_061334.jpg

Probably totaled, I imagine. I’ve seen less damage than that be declared a total loss because the airbags deployed.

Sorry to see this happen. Everyone ok?

Usually the first two things that determines total loss are airbags deployed and bent frame, which in this case you might have triggered both.
I am glad to hear that every one is fine. That's the most important.
Good luck with dealing with the insurance and getting this behind you.

My suggestion to you is document all calls with the insurance company/ies that you have. Date, Time, who you spoke to, and what they said. It will come in handy down the road if they play the stupid game with you and you get someone different as the claim progresses. Good luck.

I just moved to Texas last year, is it normal for the police to not file a report for something like this.

Even if they tried to fix it, I wouldn't want it. That's a ton of damage. So sorry this happened.

All air bags in mine deployed but no body damage, punctured a hole in the front bumper is all. 15K total bill. Less than 2K for new bumper and labor. Sight unseen, insurance said it would be totalled just because of airbags. Once they looked at it,they said no way is it totaled. Good luck, and glad everyone is OK!

No, I’ve never seen that happen with a two person accident. (Assuming you hit another vehicle)

YES! Always request that the vehicle be towed to your house so you can strip all aftermarket parts off. If you don't, the towing company will gladly take the vehicle to their tow yard so they can bill the insurance company for 'storage fees' while your claim is being worked out. During this time you will likely have no access to the truck to get your parts, or any other personal belongings.

OP glad you're ok, once the airbags pops the insurance company usually totals it out. However to me, i think this truck would make a great rebuild project.

Glad everyone's ok. It may not be totaled. Best advice having it towed to your house. I've had a vehicle totaled before; just ensure that you double check the value of your truck and not just the KBB (at least three sources). The insurance company will make an offer; you of not have to accept it; if the send you a check do not cash it. If you don't remove your aftermarket parts, have receipts available when you make you claim. GL

Glad everyone's ok. That's done. Don't even try to recover that. If they don't total it, trade it after repair.

Hell yeah it was, it happened so fast and the smell is horrible. Kids were a little shocked, but they seemed to not be bothered by it now. That other vehicle looks worse than mine does.

They should be doing a report. Period. If they aren't I would call the PD and all why. Your airbags deployed.... Which means your truck is not drivable. You said the other vehicle is worse which tells me it wasn't drivable either.... That is considered a major accident. A report needs to be done.

There has to be a report. Maybe you just did not get a copy, but you will need the report. Or at least the number for your insurance claim. I am sure you can contact the Police and ask for a copy for your records.
