Sold my problem plagued 2013 Ram 2500 diesel (150k miles) last week and bought a 2019 Crew Max SR5 4x4. I sure hope I made the right choice!! I was on a first name basis with the Ram service dept. due to my multiple trips there, not to mention the repairs I made myself. The last straw was being put into "limp" mode 700 miles from home due to a $1200 nox sensor. Looking forward to hopefully not knowing my dealership quite so well....

Welcome from AZ. You made the right move! I came from a 2012 Ram 2500 and hit 17 service appointments by 54K miles before I had enough. Were you also plagued with the "death wobble" front end issues? I loved that truck 4x4, MegaCab, first new vehicle I bought myself, but not really a fan anymore. My Tundra is at 44K miles now and has been near perfect.

Welcome! I had the same issue with my 2013 Powerstroke. I wanted to love the truck--I really did. But I didn't trust it and now I've had this Tundra since Dec '17 and zilcho issues.

    Here's a comment I posted previously here:

I had a 2013 F250 6.7 Powerstroke and it was awesome! 800lbs of torque would launch that 8,400lb truck into orbit from a cold stop. The bulletproof transmission never balked once at towing my 10,000lb bumper pull travel trailer up mountains on the Kenai peninsula in Alaska. I achieved 22mpg when cruising empty at a reasonable speed. And yet...

The DEF system caused so many thrown codes and pushed me into limp mode at least once a quarter. The DPF and EGR threatened to choke the engine with recycled soot being forced back into the intake. Did I mention the DEF contamination code that would have been a $4,000 repair if the tech hadn’t gone against the repair protocol and just wiped the reservoir clean.

In the end, I loved the power and usual performance of the truck. But a $60,000 XLT (mid-level trim) threatened constantly to strand me and my family because of all the EPA and Ford engineering. I sold that truck last December and got my 2018 Tundra. It felt at first like a Matchbox truck, but it’s grown on me. Most importantly, I TRUST this truck—that it will start, run, and run, and run. It doesn’t have the power, it doesn’t have the payload, it doesn’t have the size and weight, but I couldn’t care less. I don’t regret getting the Tundra—not for a second.

Never had the "death wobble" on mine. It was a 13 mega cab. My only complaint is I really miss storage behind the seat and underneath, but I knew that going in. I wish the toyota seat would fold forward to allow access to that space even though it is small. Got about 500 miles so far and no complaints....

After the the JCD service manager said "you come here a lot", I sold my Jeep.

The only guy that knows me well at Toyota service is the one who sells me OEM oil filters, it's a good feeling.

    Welcome!

Put a nice sub behind the seat and this is a great underseat storage solution.

Yes sir, you pretty much nailed it with that post!! I felt the same about the Ram. The Tundra is much lighter and quicker for sure, handling over all is much better. Sure not missing the def / egr issues of the diesel. I'm looking forward to a reliable vehicle that's not gonna have me turning wrenches far from home or having to go to the dreaded Dodge stealership!

Thanks for welcome y'all! Looking forward to learning more about this Tundra!
