    Is there an issue with the timing chains on 5.7 tundras wondering if it needs replaced?

    Usually a total failure if an issue. should last over 200k miles minimum. Most do not drive long enough to change or worry about. If you happen yo tear down a high milage engine then maybe consider.

    Haven’t read of any timing chain failures. But I have heard of the tensioner failing.

    I spoke with a few of my friends here in Seattle that work for a Toyota dealer and there is no issues on the 5.7. They only replaced one at 245k so far.

    Timing chains. I think it’s pretty rare but I have heard of them failing.
