    That doesn't look like high heat paint.
    VHT makes very good high heat flat black paint. Sand it down and give it one more chance.:thumbsup:

    Now you will start to notice the glare from the shifter bezel chrome. That's easy to paint, held on by plastic welds, just cut and replace with hot glue after painting. the whole trim piece pops right out

    It doesn't, actually. You just tuck it in, and pop the trim piece back in over it and it stays put. 5k miles like this with no issues!
