Good afternoon! After hours of searching, I came up empty. I am swapping an entune plus head unit to a JBL entune premium unit for a buddy. His truck is a 2017 SR5 and mine is a 2018 Platinum. Everywhere I have read said this would be a simple plug and play - and it was.... for the most part.

Everything works as it should and it is plug and play, but the volume controls (both the knob and the steering wheel) do not work when the JBL entune premium unit is in.

Anyone have this issue know what can fix it? The volume worked just fine when it was in my platinum.

Let me know - any help is greatly appreciated!

I believe the JBl HU requires the JBl Amp to control volume.

I also agree with this comment.

So, in theory, if I add the amp, it should work?

Do they make an entune premium unit that is not JBL?

In theory yes but probably not worth all the hassle. Not sure if the harnesses under the seat would be the same function as the ones for the JBl. The head units that come in the limited and trd pro models are entune premium units and are non-jbl. (JBL is an optional upgrade on a limited though so beware that if you try to track an HU down)
