I know this may be a stupid question and yes I have used the search. I took my 2016 to the dealership and asked about the recall. They advised I was covered under the recall. My question to them was I had back into a pole, they immediately told me it needed to be repaired before the recall could be done. I told them no metal was damaged just the plastic. One service guy came out and looked at my truck and and eluded that it was set and when we went back inside I got a print out of what the recall was for. Now the question, is the "bracket they are replacing the large plastic that the sensor mounts to? That has broken off the center section.
    Thanks for any help.

The plastic bumper support is replaced with a metal one. The cover is not under the recall if I remember correctly.

The woman at service kept saying I needed to have it repaired but she never looked at it. My thinking is if its a recall part why would I need to fix it before they could do the recall

Probably because they don’t want to be blamed if you have issues with it down the road that could be attributed to the previous damage.

    Just a CYA thing.

I live in Maine. And had the same issue with snapping that rear resin corner. I went to the dealer body shop and they called the service department and had them do the recall first. The body shop said what’s the point of repairing something they will take apart again for the recall.
I had completely removed the bsm sensor and meanwhile ordered a new wire harness for the bumper. I just gave them the parts when the did the recall and asked them to hook it all up during the service. They did.
The bumper adjustment was only so so and they told me I needed two new parking sensors for $700. I just took the truck home and hooked up my sensors and the truck has been fine ever since.
Makes no sense to me. The Fix is to replace the bumper supports with metal. The only part they kept was the black bumper corner covers. The plastic parts on the top of the bumper were also replaced for the recall. At that point, the problem was fixed so I cancelled the “body shop” work and spray painted the end cap with NAPA 202 black. Done!
