I love the bells and whistles of the 1974 edition. . . but the chrome....it is a bit much.

So I want to get rid of nearly all the exterior chrome color. Here are my thoughts on going about doing this:

Once they become available for general public, I'll purchase the bumper covers (I missed the group buy)

I am friends with a body shop who will sand and paint the hood scoop, grill, and tops of the mirrors, probably door handles too.

My issue is color. You guys think doing it all in OEM MGM to match? Is that too much MGM?

What about black? If I did black, I feel like I would need to paint the middle portion of the front bumper black from MGM. And then, my rear bumper ends.. its all MGM (factory trim color) right now.

    Help!

the middle portion of the bumper is not MGM. It's close, but it's off enough to look like a bad match. It's a unique problem to MGM 1794s. I plan to buy one of the unpainted center pieces to replace it, so it'll look like SR5/Limited/TRD Pro.

Ugh.. more money to spend. I just did a quick run thru of the OEM Tundra parts page from @Roman and my wants came to over $2300 bucks. sigh..:sadviolin:

I don’t have the 1794 but I had my chrome wrapped to matte black for bumpers and a color that matched the grille for the grille surround and bulge. That’s one option. Not too pricey.

I like the look. Thank you. I'm going to ask around about wrapping it.

The center piece is stupid expensive from Roman due to shipping. You can get a OEM substitute for like $110 from go-parts or Amazon
