New windshield for the 2002. Cash customer, $225 installed. No more sun glare from cracks!

 

Washed her up and cleaned the MAF Sensor. Easy stuff.

Washed two other vehicles and serviced them a bit.

Big work on another vehicle tomorrow. Its a turbo which is something I’ve never had the pleasure to work.

 

I need to do this. Safelight?

 

Safelite in my driveway was $270.

 

@Professional Hand Model no luck with the Kevorkian grease gun kit. Is it possible for a zerk to just not accept grease? I found one adapter that actually latched onto the zerk but as I pumped it just came out the sides. It worked fine on the rear shaft.

There is a note in the kit begging me to return to them and not to Amazon. I may call them and see if they have any suggestions.

 

Only thing I know that works is that homemade tip (regular tip with the rim grinded down at 22.5° angle).

You’ll feel it click on. It has to be inserted with the grinded part up on the opposite joint rounded part.

 

Man I want one of these very much so. That other mid-torque model would suit me righteous due to the smaller size, yet capability ready.

Today I installed Weathertech floor mats and in-channel visors. As well as rain x wipers. I know very exciting mods lol

But I also picked up 4 Sony 6.5 inch 4-way speakers. I plan to replace the stock speakers on my next day off (Tuesday). I don't plan to replace the stock tweeters as these speakers have their own tweeters built in.
Maybe next paycheck I'll order a new touch screen radio and back up camera.
Then maybe by the end of summer ill install a sub and amp.

So this week during my down time at.work I'll be researching how to remove the door panels and such. It was really easy on my my 99 tacoma. I did all the work on that truck and it was my first sound system. It came out great. I just kept asking myself "if I were a professional installer, would I hire myself again?"

 

It's very easy on the Tundra also. You won't have any trouble. How do you like the weather tech mats so far?

A few subtle changes today. Painted the emblem and mirrors black as the chrome was looking tired and I feel it breaks it up a bit. Took the V8 emblem off. New air filter (stock intake) and LED brake lights. The LED brake lights are a huge difference. The only lights not LED on this truck now are the rear turn signals and headlights. I’m afraid to get HID or LED headlights as I’m wanting them to look good but not blind everyone since I don’t have projectors.

 

Such a nice color. Clean truck.

 

50% carbon ceramic tint will reduce glare from on coming traffic headlights, block 99% uv Ray's and has very high heat rejection.
Negatives?
Well obviously it's illegal to tint the windshield but with 50% tint you barely notice.
It's expensive, 3M tint could cost $150-200 just for the windshield

 

I think he was referring, if his OEM windshield was anything like mine before replacing, to that sandblast/small cracks on the glass that magnify the low angle sun.

Per your ceramic tint recco: They make a clear ceramic tint (*edit -film) that blocks just as much of your aforementioned things. I’m highly considering doing this to my new front glass because I’ve been so pleased with my side ceramic tint and my other vehicles (surround all glass). The heat reduction is huge.

 

Yeah those cracks, chips, nicks and pantyhose make glare horrid. New glass clears everything right up but why stop there.....

 

I wanna say $200 for just the gun. I've got a bad habit of going through the catalog at the supply house and ordering tools I want and putting them on my tool account.

Looks great! Consider doing the bumper strip too, cleans it up even better IMO.

 

You have convinced me to change my remaining bulbs to LED as well. So far, I've only done the reverse lights. I like the way this looks.

 

Mine is about like the one on the left, I think on setting 3 it hits 400ftlbs or so.

I have that one pictured which I believe is the 3/8” impact ‘drill’?

I’m wanting the Mid-Torque 3/8” ‘wrench’.

I have plenty o’batteries including the momba 12v High Demand, some medium XC, and some babies for light stuff.

 

Just a heads up that the Sylvania Halogens LL are just as bright or brighter (IMO) in the brake/turn signal assys without needing resistors. Way le$$.

The reverse lights are sweet with the LED Zevos which also work well in the Cargo wells. Bright as a baseball field at night.

 

do you get hyperflash where it flashes quickly on your turn signals since you insatlled LED's? Thanks, looks great!

 

I’ve been so back and forth on painting the strip, I wish it didn’t have it at all. I know the limited didn’t but that’s more work finding and painting than I’m willing to put in.

Yes I did on the fronts which is why I’ve been holding off on the backs. The front has two bulbs per side and I needed 4 resistors total. I tried all I could without them, trying them
On one bulb vs other to see if a side may not need it but no dice. My Tacoma only needed it on one side hence the test.

 

Are those LR E ATPs? How do you like them?
