Part number for the Bed Light kit is PT948-35160, google this number and you will find the installation instructions.
Part number for the power tailgate lock is 00016-34092, google this number and you will find the installation instructions.
Both of these work on the 2016-2018 models.

I highly recommend the lighting kit if you have a cover or camper shell, with the addition of the light kit you can simply tie into the brake light and new lighting kit and provide a plug in connection for your camper shell interior lights and 3rd brake.

Anybody know where the wires are for the 18’s door trigger?

There is a YouTube for the 2018. It is still on the passenger side, but I don't remember what color wires.

Very likely they tapped into it in the passenger side kick panel. Look for abnormal wiring and check the connections.

I know this is an old thread but I have in my possession a OEM Toyota power locking tailgate kit. Comes with the power locking mechanism and complete plug and play wiring harness. The retail price in Canada was $280 but it’s an original Toyota part covered by my warranty. I purchased it for my 2018 Tundra Platinum. If anyone out there is still interested I can post picks of the parts and Toyota part number.

Google search of part # 00016-34092 and Amazon may have the best price right now....$159.99 free shipping.
Sparks has an install pdf (same part #) which shows a picture of the locking module that has a Pop Lock logo on it. Uses scotchlock wire taps.....so not exactly "plug and play".

    Avoid this seller. DAYTONA TOYOTA.

I asked the seller if this was a oem product. They replied that this was a specific product only through them. I asked if this was a “pop and lock” brand. They denied, saying it was not ! Upon arrival, it was indeed a “pop and lock”. Over priced and lied. My loss , but members please stay away. Have all messages saved.

When I type in the kit/box part number on the googles I only get two matches from Toyota dealers priced at $135 USD-ish. Seems kind of too cheap and the name of the product is listed as "Tailgatte Lock Tund Lg". Is this only the manual locking assembly?

A general google search for "tundra power tailgate lock" led me to Freeman Toyota website where the title of part is "2017 Power Tail Gate Lock" listed at $330 USD. The part number on that is 00012-T1718-11.

Which of these are the actual complete Power locking kit? Does anyone know if any of these work with a 2016 Tundra? @Roman @iHacker

You can search for a DIY and will cost less or you can go through Amazon for $100 a Pop and Lock

I appreciate it @porkitt but I really just want an OEM option. I did see other listing the PopnLock option earlier in thread. I just want to use factory parts

I don’t know if there’s an OEM but I can be wrong. For the most part, members use the Pop and Lock and are happy with the results. Me included

I see. If there isn't an OEM option then I will end up going with the PopnLock. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Only complaint I've heard is that it is noisy.

Yes, noisy when locking. It’s also a good feedback for me to know that it locked

I don't believe there's an oem Toyota one. I have the Pop and Lock and it works well. Louder than your door locks but does the job. Got it for $76 on Amazon. Price fluctuates but goes down to that often.

I have the Pop and Lock (PL8535) and it is by far one of the most useful mods. The noise isn't as bad as some people say it is. Then again, noise is subjective. I've had it for a couple months now and I don't even notice it anymore.

    Yup, Ram and Ford too!
How hard would it be for Toyoda to run 2 wires to the tailgate? I have to chuckle on my 19 Crew they have loose wires hanging in the drivers side front wheel well, looks like a stick while off-roading could take it out.

I had an extra roll of dynamat lying around and did the inside of the tailgate with the install. Also put a small piece on the actuator arm. Now it’s just as loud as the regular door locks. Super easy.

The only place you can get the Toyota tailgate lock from is a Southeastern Florida dealer. I'm picking mine up from Delray Toyota. Hope that helps.
