I had a master cylinder failure under 5000 and they replaced it under warranty....no problems since and at 33,000

They gave me a free bed mat. I call that upgraded trim. If that’s what you’re looking for I bet you could get one

I bought a 2016 Tacoma before all the reports came out. Drive it for 10 months before said ECU update to resolve shifting issue.....I bitched enough that they took it back in lieu of my new upgraded trim, power train, and bed size.....they gave me a Tundra, and it ended up saving me money, but best of all is that I started smiling while driving again

@RowdyRon those posts were not directed at me although i did see them, the message I am talking about was sent on the 20th directly to you but you never responded but if you ok with it that's good :)

here is the avatar I have been using for years, at the time of joining this forum I could not find it as I have recently built a new computer and moved gigabytes of files around  check the date on Luftwaffe ID. :)

Crazy, when do you get the truck back? Hey look on the bright side maybe the motor that went bad was going to have the cam tower leak anyways and now maybe your new motor wont, hopefully.

I'd be pissed too if that happened to my truck. I'd want relief on the payments that were due during servicing. As others have said, Toyota is honoring their warranty and replacing the engine. I think that you might be able to negotiate something extra for the trouble but beyond that they have upheld their end of the contract. You're understandably bitter about the experience; I'm not sure that you can convert that into cash or its equivalent.

I would be pissed too. When looking at trucks and seeing one with a new engine after 1500 miles, it would have a bunch of red flags for me. If on the other hand, the truck was ten years old with a new engine, I would be fine with it.

I would try to get the platinum warranty or upgrade and dump that truck.

P.S. thats a great looking truck, I will give you 20K for it!

NO, I never pulled a Tundra engine, and would not go through all that, "UNLESS" it was absolutely necessary, which is something I would NOT out rule. If you can tell me why I will believe you, because there are some vehicles out there that pulling the body off the drive line is easier. Pontiac Fiero to name one I have done. Also in my parting of Datsun Z cars, I do the same, I lift the uni body right off the entire drive line and flip the car over because it's the easy way to strip a car in one day. Also I have a 2000 Tundra, so looking at all the room in the engine bay, I would wonder why.

They usually come around, but this post is a year old right? Were there more problems?
