Painting plastic chrome letters on hubcaps

2023 Tundra Platinum Hybrid

I have a set of WORX wheels that I love, but I’m not a big fan of the plastic chrome letters. Any recommendation on what paint to use if I want to black them out?

I talked with a few paint shops and they told me if was a waste of money since the paint will just flake off. I also attempted plasti dip twice and just never took well (my badges are plasti dipped)

Appreciate any input!

Try sanding the chrome part. It may just be black plastic under the paint.
