The truck is a 2013 Tundra 5.7 FFV with no mods and 102K miles. The problem first showed itself last summer while working around the farm with a fair amount of Idling in Hot Central Louisiana. First the AC starts getting warm and then the truck starts missing with it getting progressively worse, the engine gets hot and check engine light turns on. It’s repeatable.

I brought the truck into the local Toyota place last September where they told me they could not find anything wrong with it. So, I started the truck and sat idling in their parking log for about 40 minutes until the normal symptoms surfaced. AC gets warm, truck starts missing and it gets progressively worse with the check Engine light on. They told me 2 coil packs were causing the problem and replaced them. The weather turned cool and we have been very wet for the last 8 months preventing farm work so I did not experience the issue again.

Today, it’s warm and I’m working on the farm. I rode around very slow for about 30 minutes looking for a guard that fell off of my lawn mower and the symptoms showed up again. The AC got hot then it started missing and overheating with check engine light on. Last year, turning the truck off then back on would fix the sluggishness and missing but I did not try today.

So, I dropped tue Truck off at the local Toyota place tonight.

One more bit of info, about 2 weeks after I had it serviced last September I took it on a 400 mile trip and it went into some sort of "limp mode". The Toyota dealership in Memphis Tn replaced the fuel pump and sent me on my way. I have not had any more trouble until today but I have only put about 6 thousand miles since the new fuel pump and have not done any extended idling at all.

Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what it is?

When the check engine light is on, what code did it show? If truck overheats and nothing is leaking, i'd start with the thermostat. Limp mode could be cause by a bad AIP , have you been using ethanol or regular gas?
