I was told it's never been wrecked and while I'm going to look at it tomorrow I would like your opinion on this. Does this look like orange peel from a truck that's been repainted? Or am I just being overly suspicious of a dealership I've already caught being sketchy? Thanks.

It's a Canadian import and there wasn't much on the Carfax besides a "normal" title and one-owner. That goes for the Canadian Carfax I purchased in addition the US one.

Looks like orange peel to me. Mine doesn't look like that, especially around the i-Force badge. If you already caught them being sketchy, walk away and find another Tundra. If its too good to be true, it most likely is the case since our Tundras still go for top dollar used.

I would expect that on the lower half for rock chips but I wouldn't buy it just due to it would drive me nuts every time I washed it

I have not seen any factory paint jobs on a Tundra with that much orange peel.

Take it to a reputable body shop during an extended test drive, have them look it over.

So now I'm confused lol. Blowing up all the pics of the body of the truck it looks like there is orange peel everywhere. What sort of collision was this???

Go somewhere else. I've never seen a paint job like that on a Tundra, and if you are already getting a bad vibe from this dealer........

If it's a truck max, run away fast, they're notorious for buying at Canadian auction, then covering up previous accidents...

run away from any vehicles from canada. the rust is real. some shady dealers will buy trucks from alberta/oil fields and re-coat the frame to hide the rust and send it down to the states for top dollar. just run away.

People get into accidents and have them fixed themselves all the time. That stuff won’t show up on the Carfax. Our trucks have a little bit of orange peel but that looks horrible. I know my orange peel is more prominent if I’ve just waxed it, but again that looks pretty poor.

I bought my 2015 Tundra in Aug 2018.
Came out of Quebec. No rust whatsoever.
    No regrets, runs awesome.

Can't speak to your paint situation. If there is no rust underneath and the paint is not flaking or bubbling, it may be a good ride.

Been repainted. WHY is the question....
Other than a desired color change, there just aren't a lot of possible good answers.
IF you are still considering it ask to talk with the previous owner. (Be sure that you aren't just talking to another salesman who is claiming to be the previous owner)

If you already caught him sketchy!! Once then that is one time to many!! Keep going and find yourself a better truck with a better paint job. If it’s an import hard telling how much doctoring they did if any but if it don’t look right, and if it don’t feel tight??!!, then it ain’t tight!!!

Between me and my in-laws there’s 3 tundras in the family. 7 newer Toyota’s.

The only ones that DONT have orange peel like that are the ones that have a paint with a metallic flake in them.

My truck has it, father in laws black tundra has it.

While it isn’t the worst. Toyota’s paint isn’t exactly top notch.

Was just thinking the same. Zooming in on the pics it really doesn’t look much worse than my truck. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
