Trying some different filter media on my tank. Picked up some Seachem Matrix biological media that just about looks like pumas stones. Also some zippered bags to hold them in, don't really need to but might make it easier to handle when cleaning. Seachem Purigen chemical filter media to hopefully help prevent the algae problem I have had.

Gonna run this in a separate filter along with my existing filter. Should have good bio growth in about a month and start seeing results.

I had to read this twice before I figured out that you WEREN'T talking about the fuel tank on your truck. *Stepping away to top up the coffee cup, because; obviously....*

long story short, I had a 150 gal tank, lots of plants and fish, no algae. Moved to a 90 gal and been fighting algae since. I've added CO2, UV light in the filter and keep adding plants, I think we're getting ahead. Also since the wife likes neons and cardinals, we set up a 10 gal to grow them so the angel fish won't immediately eat them in the big tank. Put in a Beta since a tank needs fish, right?

Nice! I'm moving hopefully by end of June. Once I do I'm escaping this tank with rocks that aren't sharp, adding more fish and probably a lot of cichlid tolerant plants to starve tha algae out.

It's the ciclid tolerant plants that might be a problem. As I keep learning, you can get 2 out of 3 things at best. My wife's instance in keeping the angels and adding tetras has resulted in a large loss of tetra life. At least it's the food chain. I will be adding 6 more neons to the grow tank tomorrow.

After buying the impact the other day I thought how nice it would be to not drag out my air hose to grease the tractor.
