I've read a few threads lately with people not being happy with their black chrome exhaust and how it's aged quickly. Is it just an issue with the black or has anyone felt the same way about their chrome?

I've got to decide on a color by today. My truck is white. Either color will work, but just curious on anyone's feedback with either one. Thanks!

The quality of stainless steel used is sub-par and will rust eventually. In certain areas of the country it'll rust faster than others. Your best bet is to simply clear coat the entire thing when it's still new using a high temp ceramic clear coat paint.

As for the black vs chrome preference on your white Tundra, I would try and match other accents on my truck, wheels, running boards, bumpers etc. If you have black wheels, the black tips would look right at home. Same goes for aluminum or chrome wheels and the chrome tips.

My opinion is get the black tips and then paint the whole system black. Rustoleum engine enamel does not need to be cured on the truck, and should be high enough temp for the exhaust.

Dang! I was hoping one would hold up better than the other. It's nuts that they would be such low quality chrome given the price point. Oh well. I'll look into clear coating either option.

My overall goal is to replace the mirror caps and door handles with white covers and then black badges on the rest of the truck. I'll more than likely rock the stock wheels until I can do an upgrade.
