Accused of supporting Isis

I had a guy tell me because I drive a Toyota I am supporting ISIS.

He went on a rant about how Toyota supposedly sells directly to ISIS and that's why all their trucks are toyotas....blah blah blah.

I know he's full of crap, but damn it pissed me off a bit.

I'm guessing by his logic because I shave my head I support Nazis too?

Ugh what a world we live in.

Can't fix stupid. Same type of person who says buy American, not knowing that, that Ford, Chevy, and ram(fiat) has more foreign parts than our Tundras. You can't say that isis is stupid, they picked the most dependable/ reliable truck out there. This guy is a Asshat fo sho

 

Yup. If Ford, Chevy, or GM made dependable small trucks, ISIS would use those. So would we.

 

Guy at work asked me about our old 04 Pilot. When I told him it had 311,000 miles on it with all major parts stock, he said that's really great but he could never buy "foreign"....as he climbed into his CHI-COM BUILT Buick Envision! Many people's knowledge ends at the 'name plate' concerning vehicles, that way, they're absolutely sure about what they ASSUME.

 

When I go all jihad 300 miles into the desert I need something reliable to get me there.

That's why I choose Toyota.

My truck was made in Texas and engineered in Michigan.

I dont know what's funnier.
Them thinking that ISIS goes to a dealer or that they buy factory direct.

Dealer: how can I get you into this truck today?

ISIS: I will take it but would like a .50 cal mount for the bed and some bullet holes in the windshield. Can you give it that rolled over look to it as well? Do that and I will sign right now.

 

If the guy wasn't off his rocker I would have probably clocked him, but I just let it go.

I've heard a lot of reasons not to buy Toyota but this was a new on me. I just can't imagine anyone truly believing that a major car company of any brand would support terrorism.

I guess every town needs their village idiot.

This is the same mentality where all Toyotas' are brought to the US by the same ships that launched the attack on Pearl Harbor and every GM, Ford and Dodge was built with 100% American content, in America!

 

Some movie/video I watched recently was set in that hostile part of the world. One TDY American expatriate working for an NGO remarked to another permanently stationed that the locals seemed to really prefer Toyota trucks (true, but probably a product placement). His friend replied that the usual MO of the locals was to steal a Nissan, Mitsubishi, or some other Truck brand, then sell it to buy a Toyota.

 

This is the kind of shit that happens to morons like that...
