I replaced the chrome mirror caps with super white caps. I believe I put them on as well as possible but there is a slight gap on one edge, the edge closer to the body. Do I need to take these off and try to snap them in again? I'm nervous about damaging them...

Is the gap abnormal, and most importantly will it be vulnerable?
It has survived a few carwashes no problem so far.
Pic 1 outside fits great, pic 2 inside gap.

I read a thread on this a while back. I’ll see if I can find it. From what I remember I think you have to get a little aggressive with it. Also make sure all the snaps are clean from any plastic slag that may interfere with snapping on completely.

I looked around I couldn’t find it. It was probably just part of the content of a thread. But it is possible to get them to sit right.

Mine did the same thing. I removed them and really gave them some force when re-installing. Since then, they haven't developed a gap.

    Great news!

You do really have to beat on them sometimes.
