Hi Everyone - I've had my 2003 4.7, 4x4 Tundra for about 12 years. (Best vehicle I've ever owned) Decided to finally change my timing belt and wp yesterday at about 210K miles. I used my shop to do the work, as I have no real good work space in my garage. The truck, prior to the new belt ran great, just knew I was probably pushing my luck with the belt. The truck now seems to run and idle better - very subtle, yet, you get to know your truck after about 130k miles of driving. Anyone else have this experience? I looked at the old belt and it was starting to spiderweb - pre-cracks I guess. I think it was the original and perhaps stretched just a bit. Do they stretch? I'm guessing this could effect the timing ever so slightly. Not looking for "answers", just wondering what others have experienced - thanks in advance! Larry

Yes, same as timing chains do.

Its been 50k and 7 years since having mine done by a shop, as well. I do remember the engine feeling real nice afterwards. It was running good prior, but it had an extra buttery smoothness after.

Same thing happened when swapping out all the coil packs last year and adding Ceratec oil treatment last month. I can barely hear my engine now.
