The Tundra CAN pull a lot more than it's rated, it has the power for it. The payload is going to be your limiting factor. The brakes, frame, and suspension just don't want to deal with large loads.

Personally I'm not going to pull over 7k. That's a 4500lb trailer, loaded, and some gear in the bed. This is a safe, comfortable combination.
I previously pulled a toyhauler for a year, 6-8 trips. That was 6600 empty, I was somewhere around 9k loaded. The truck handled it, but ultimately it didn't feel safe and wasn't fun on long trips.

My point is that simply asking for the rated numbers is not your best bet, if you run it to the limits you're not going to be happy.

Hitch weight against your payload rating is often the bigger limiting factor, not just the tow rating.
