What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Yeah , I would need 6 of these lifts to bring my motorhome off the ground

 

So I was bored and looked through the FSM.
That connector is called the short pin connector, from what I can gather it's a electrical disconnect that gets removed during the dealers PDI.

The heated mirror wiring runs through the same connectors as the door lock/window wiring. You may have the wiring already or may not. At least in 04 they made they door harness without the heat option, I assume that anyway because I have to add the wires into the door harness because they're missing from the drivers door after it was rebuilt (prior to me owning it).

There is a 15A fuse and a relay under the hood, the timer looks to be in the switch itself which makes sense since the switch new is $163.

If you're really set on it my 2 cents is buy the aftermarket heated mirrors and the defroster control I posted earlier. You could get all that for less than the cost of just the Toyota switch (new anyway).

 

I had another first gen guy from Tundras to Sedona complain about his TC uppers doing the exact same thing. Kinda wish people would have said more about it when I was doing research. Oh well haha

It's a Brute force fab bumper! They don't have them on their website but you can email them. They discontinued the 20" light bar cutout in front of the grill though

 

My ‘05 came with a pretty bad rusted out
dent in the bed. I don’t want to spend a bunch of money on a truck I got so cheap so I just rattle canned it. Came out better than I expected. Used a $5 can of rustoleum automotive enamel, it matches the paint well enough and made the dent way less noticeable

 

Well, finally got the ole motorhome done , new airsprings all around , hub oil, diff fluid , greased . Ready to travel.

I really like the shaved clean look. I think the "drax" build is one of the better looking access cabs on here.

 

Are you rolling with these all the way around now? I saw a few weeks ago you were measuring for bigger sizes but didn't realize you actually did it..?

I added two 8-inch hifonics subs and a 1200.1 hifonics monoblock amp to the rear underseat storage compartment. I sealed up the storage compartment with noico sound deadening mat and used weather stripping to seal the 3/4" MDF. Its probably not 100% sealed but it sounds good to me. I had to cut a hole in the plastic cover under the seat and the metal seat supports were still really close to the subs, there is not a lot room under the seat and I should have recessed the subs but I don't have a router. I ended up banging the bars with a hammer to get a little clearance!! I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

 

This is funny you say this about white as I had two white vehicles (one an 87’Toy p/u) prior to buying the 02’ Tundra.

Drove up to the dealer one afternoon and did some dealing and solidified the deal for a 02’ White Tundra, but they were out if stock so I had to wait and said ok. Got home and Mz. PHM says, ‘WHAT? Get a different color!’. Hahahaa

I called the stealer back and told him Metallic Gray or the deal is off! They hustled and got one in two days.

So glad I went Metallic as this paint job is bullet proof. Must be 6 primer coats (greencolor) and 8 finish coats and 4 clear coats on top of that judging from some scratches biopsy. Of course, she gets waxed alot so that helps.

 

Drove 4.5 hours today for work. Witnessed a wild wreck on the way. I'm hoping my dash cam captured. If it did I'll post it. Running to walmart to get a USB cord.

 

Exciting day ordered an air filter and then used it to jump start my lawn mower.

When I get a new bed, fenders and doors, I'm going to Monstaliner my truck that color. And I'll be "shaved" meaning no flares.

You really think I'd be so happy to share that? The only thing hurt was the 2 redneck's F-250 and the case of Natty they probably had in the bed.

 

Had to ask. I dislike some of these accident videos. Glad nobody was hurt.

 

Probably they are for the 00-02 but the shape looks the same just different light design.

I installed my USB extension for my Pioneer Avic 7200nex in place of my cigarette lighter. I also updated the Avic firmware. Now I should be able to use Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. My 7th gen ipod Nano works through the USB so I don't have to d!ck around with the bluetooth connection.
