Changed my oil this afternoon and after I reinstalled the filter drain cap I used Dykem industrial paint pen to mark a reference for myself later. Is there any concern that the paint pen would be harmful to the plastic oil filter housing? Probably a dumb question, but that’s my ocd for this evening! Thanks

Maybe but probably not. More than likely not.

I don't believe it will harm anything.

I have no concerns. It’s your truck, not mine.:D

Seriously though, that composite material stands up to hot pressurized oil for countless hours without failure, so I’m not concerned about the paint chemically altering it much in a few minutes until it dries.
